Questions under category : DB2 » z/OS

Q : I have hundreds of distributed systems that need to connect to DB2 for z/OS; what is the best way to handle that?
A : DB2 Connect Enterprise has gateway capabilities which provide for the concentration of distributed connections. This reduces the number of direct of connections to DB2 on z/OS which in turn reduces session overhead and better utilizes z/OS resources. High availability and load balancing can be achieved by having multiple DB2 Connect Enterprise server concentrators.
